Midwest Mold is proud to announce that they have expanded their molding capability’s once again. We have added a third Cincinnati Milacron Roboshot plastic injection press to the molding department.

With no oil supply, filtration or disposal, Roboshot is the energy-saving “green” machine that will help reduce operational costs. It is engineered to reduce energy consumption by 50 to 80% with repeatable and precise cycles that are 5 to 50% faster compared with hydraulic machines.

Midwest Mold is committed to providing our customers with every cost saving option and the best possible service, to ensure that service is tailored to meet our customer’s individual needs.

Midwest Mold recently upgraded their closed loop water system. We have installed a 15 Ton chiller with an 5 Micron filtration system. This assures optimal temperature and pressure when Midwest runs a production or prototype mold. Also with the water being constantly cleaned it assures a contaminate free environment.

Extending the life of Machines and Molds alike.

Midwest Mold has officially become a Direct Supplier to FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. While working on Chrysler, Dodge or any of the top automobile manufacturer is nothing new for Midwest.

Disposable single-use bioreactors are the future for biomanufacturers. With no extensive high cost for cleaning required to keep everything sterilized, the cost to manufacturer this sensor is highly cost effective. The single use sensor housing has the potential to monitor multiple new analytes in real time. It can accommodate a working sensor, eliminating any need for the biomanufacturer to have multiple sensors as well.

Bio Bag

This plastic injection mold has the potential to make 50,000 parts starting today. The mold has been field tested spotted and ran to make sure nothing was missed. We can even run this mold for you and ship the parts directly to you. You can own the same style Biosensor Housing being used at the University of Utah today.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM MIDWEST MOLD SERVICES

The past year has been very exciting for us at Midwest Mold Services. In 2014 MMS has made great strides in being proactive in keeping up with technology to better serve our customer’s needs. Below you will find information on all of the equipment added to MMS in 2014.

OKK VM76R

The latest Additions to our NC capabilities are two new OKK vertical machining centers. The largest in the series, the VM76R machines offer a 61 x 30 Inch table. This machine is designed for extreme rigidity and accuracy, featuring a Big Plus 50 direct drive spindle for heavy-duty cutting. Features include a 30 place automatic tool changer. Spindle speed up to 12,000 rpm. Double-anchored core chilled ball screws and a Mitsubishi Neomatic 730 controller. For fast accurate machining on larger tools. These OKK machines are hands down the highest selling machines in its class and Midwest Mold has purchased two of them.

GANTRY EAGLE 800

Midwest Mold has added a new key component to our EDM department capabilities. The Gantry Eagle 800! Outfitted with an Eagle PowerTec power supply. “Adaptive current-shape generator” is leading to a reduction of the spark gap, this gives you a better achievement of electrode wear and removal of material. Each discharge pulse calculates and creates the ideal current shape to meet the exact discharge requirements at that moment. Eagle PowerTec, combined with Eagle Power Jump, reduces burn time by up to 50 percent, while drastically reducing electrode wear—especially in graphite. The OPS-Ingersoll Gantry Eagle 800 features a dual 32-bit, PC-based CNC Control that enables faster data processing and servo control. The machine’s unique construction provides thermal stability and rigidity and features a 4-sided drop tank design that allows work-area access from all sides.

FCS FLEXIBLE CLAMPING SYSTEM

While in the market for a flexible clamping system that would allow for unrestricted access to five sides of a work piece, Midwest Mold unearthed FCS. A system that met all of our criteria and helped in decreasing our internal setup time while at the same time improving repeatability. With the FCS system Midwest Mold was able to tackle this issue head on. The work piece can be moved to another machine without additional pickups. That same part can be turned on its side quickly for multiple setups thanks to permanent reference points. The mounting platform is flexible from 500×600 (mm) to our 1000×800 (mm) or larger. This allows for any smaller parts, plates, rails or components to be set up on various combinations on the FCS grid layout. This has eliminated the need of clamps, rods and nuts, also eliminating interference with cutters, drills and reamers. The ability to drill straight through the part with no need to shim or block the setup has also been gained. In the end we reduced setup time, gained machining time and were able to add more operations to enhance our capabilities.

CIMATRON SOFTWARE

Keeping current in technology is a vital part of manufacturing. With so many choices and the cost of implementation, it’s imperative to do your due diligence and spend the time it takes to make the right choice. Cimatron was the fit for Midwest Mold. With 5 full design packages and an additional 8 viewing seats, we are fully equipped to provide our customers with the latest in design & programing technology including full 3-D capabilities.
